Reviews for the Futa Centaur

Well, Riding With the Futa Centaur has been out for just over a month — and the reception has been more than I could have hoped for.

I was worried that the relative lack of sex scenes in this one would be a turn-off. When the first rating came in as a one-star, I thought my fears were about to be confirmed. Oh well, live and learn.

But, no! So far, it’s sitting on an aggregate of four stars, which makes me very happy.

What makes me even happier are the reviews.

Not that I get all bent out of shape by negative reviews: in fact, some of the most negative reviews of the previous books were the most helpful I’ve had. They — correctly! — pointed out where I had screwed up, and I (hopefully) learned from them. Which is why the foreword to Riding specifically thanks those reviewers.

But, let’s face it, writers, especially indie writers, live for good reviews. With that in mind, I hope you’ll indulge me if I share some recent reviews that had me on Cloud Nine all day. Both are from user “Knockers McGee”.

Saved by the Futa Centaur

The beginning of this series features a surprisingly refreshing relationship between two women (one of which happens to be a Centaur). However, the human emotions and personality of Sharonne the Centaur are real enough to believe she’s still a person who is just a little different. The reveal as to how Sharonne became a futa, and how she deals with it, are also touching and real.

Short but sweet and leaves you wanting more of their tender emotion. Sex scenes are steaming and sexy without regressing into smut. Much too classy for that.

Likewise, the violence is nice and violent without being too bloody or brutal.

Very enjoyable little novella. Not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Romanced by the Futa Centaur

Another fabulous installment of our favorite ladies, the gorgeous Gennara and Sharonne the Centaur. Once again falling into deep trouble and even deeper love. As a follow-up this book hits all the high notes of the previous, even managing to ramp up the heat a few notches, whew.

Honest to goodness plot twists… in erotica… In FUTA erotica. Any lovers of the genre must know what a delightfully rare find this is. You’ll even see uncensored and unapologetic world building, unheard of!

Follow along on the next adventure as the girls get further entangled in mysterious plots to locate the evil magician who cursed Sharonne.

Bless you, Knockers McGee, wherever you are! You’ve made this author very happy, indeed.

McCarthy’s stories are all set in her native Wales and she deftly weaves a wealth of local folklore and ghostly atmosphere. The stories run from ghost stories that, while perhaps conventional, are nevertheless outstanding and beautifully written, to cosmic horror.

But the unifying thread in all the stories is Wales and its landscapes. The misty, haunted hills, the grey seas and the ancient standing stones.

Reading Mists and Megaliths is like taking a guided, ghost tour of an entire country. Rather than a hokey tourist trap, though, the Wales of these stories is the Wales of Arthur Machen: ancient, brooding and beautiful

Update time…

Believe it or not, work is crawling along on Futa Centaur 3. It’s nearly there, in fact. The only problem is that the darn thing just won’t stop growing. It’s now at a behemoth 20 chapters – and I’m absolutely positive that that’s where it’s going to stop.

Servants of Man is a smart, intriguing SF saga with, at its heart, androids who are only too human. As such, they face much the same questions of free will and morality as we do.

An exceptionally good book.

A Little Gift for my Readers

First of all, an apology: I started writing the third installment of Futa Centaur a couple of months ago, but, well… life intervenes. I was offered some extra work, and what with an overseas holiday then Christmas coming up, how could I refuse?

Unfortunately, that job also ended up sucking up most of my writing time, with the result that Futa Centaur 3 has mostly just been stuck in my skull. Which is unfair on readers, because (to my lasting regret) Romanced by the Futa Centaur ended on such a cliffhanger.

I’m hating making you wait so long.

Which is why I’m posting chapter one of Futa Centaur 3 (its working title) here, for free. It should at least tie up a little bit of the loose ends left dangling in Romanced. This is a draft, of course, but any revisions should only be minor.

With the Wonderlust series finally put to bed, I’m concentrating my energies on the third Futa Centaur story. This one will flesh out the world of Gennara and Sharronne in more detail.

We’ll also get to meet a lot more centaurs!

We call our time mikkesh, and when it hits you – it hits you. It becomes almost uncontrollable.”

“Sounds fun, to me!”

“Uh-uh,” Sharronne said firmly. “Because everyone knows – especially the men. It drives them nuts. “And a house full of horny women.” Gennara snickered.
